I moved back to North Jersey from Virginia in July, but, was still working a consulting engagement in Virginia. I was at the client on 9/11 and, like everyone else, watched the horrifying images on TV. Then, the Pentagon was struck. There I sat, in my office, with a clear shot of the smoking Pentagon out the window, while I desperately tried to reach my family and friends up north on overused telephone lines. Simultaneously, I was tracking down my staff, some of whom were actually on planes at the time. I will never forget the terror of that morning...
