I was emcee for my university's hosting of Stephen Covey in the days following 9/11. I asked if his principle "seek first to understand; then to be understood" still stood.

I was looking for profound encompassment of the "good and the bad," to find the elusive Unity of polar opposites.

Instead, he vilified Bin Laden.

My hopes for energetic healing were not realized. I knew it would be unpopular and not understood by the audience, but I do think it's the Truth. Great spiritual teachers, including Jesus, advocated non-judgment and forgiveness even in the presence of extreme cruelty.
