Savannah International Airport. Tuesday morning. September 11, 2001. It was 9:04 when the first call came. "A plane just crashed into the Trade Center." Oh my gosh, I thought. Our Executive Director and Commission members were at an aviation conference in Canada. It never failed. All he had to do was leave town and there was a crisis. This was the third time. Our Deputy Executive Director would have to field the media calls. These thoughts raced through my mind in a split second. Someone turned on a radio for more details and the true horror began to unfold.
